Whilst I never fully judge a film by it’s trailer (as the trailers usually contain all the bits worth seeing from the film condensed into 2 or 3 minutes leaving the other hour or so as dull as ditchwater), the trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus certainly looks stunning :

One to look out for I think …
It does look pretty damn good, I’ll grant you that, and I will be making a point of going to watch this in the cinema when it comes out … but … c’mon, the translucent information panels, and graphic overlays, as ‘futuristic instrumentation’ … hasn’t that been done to death already?
Paul – yes the futuristic look has certainly been done to death by all and sundry these days but hopefully there is a lot more in the film when we get to see what didnt make it to the trailer. There are a couple more trailers out there with other scenes from the film as well as the odd comment from the director on whether this should be judged as a prequel or a side story to the Alien series. At the very least, with Ridley Scott and H.R. Giger involved again, it should be well worth the trip to the flicks.
Oh, it does. It really, really does…
But can I bear the rip-off chav-infested local cinema just for the big screen experience? I think I’ll wait for the BluRay.
JuliaM – Granted there is the annoyance factor these days where people just don’t seem to care much for the other viewers in cinemas but unless you have a monstrous home screen, I find some films are worth the gamble of going along to the cinema, especially if you can get time to go when the schools are not on holiday and those with a chav tendency have yet not dragged themselves into their burbery outfits 🙂
