Outrage amongst AIDs charities in London as their funding gets squeezed :
London’s HIV prevention groups have said they are “concerned” and “outraged” at a 20% funding cut.
Inner North West London Primary Care Trust (PCT), which manages the Pan London HIV Prevention Programme, has cut the budget for 2011-12 by £516,000.
About time some of these publicly funded charities got their wings clipped especially when the very next paragraph in the article suggests that they haven’t been doing much good with the several millions that they have trousered in the last few years :
Meanwhile, the number of Londoners with HIV who acquired the infection in the UK has more than doubled in the past decade, latest figures show.
The PCT said it wanted resources to be targeted “more effectively”.
I assume “targeted more effectively” is a polite euphemism for not pissing more money up the wall on obviously ineffective programs that make bugger all difference to the problem at hand?
Agreed. Living in cardboard city with nothing but a shroud to keep them warm.
I’ve only one thing to say to that:
HA!
You are an evil man Bucko – think of those poor shroud wavers possibly having to go out and find real employment instead of being leeches on our soft undersides. 🙂
Seriously though I wouldn’t have pissed around with a 20% cut, they would be out on their ears full stop.
