After the first two cars gingerly scrape their way over the exit ramp, listen for the very, very expensive sounding clunk at around 16 seconds as the tour comes to an abrupt halt :

I don’t see how you can blame GM – exactly the same thing would have happened to any stretched limo, particularly one carting tons of armour plate around!
Quite a few “ordinary” cars with lowered suspension would come to grief on that hump.
As per numerous comments elsewhere, somebody wants their arse kicking for not surveying the route properly beforehand. The driver is supposed to have been given extensive training in avoidance techniques, you would think a bit of that would include the special requirements of driving a long wheelbase car.
microdave – not necessarily blaming but amusing when GM were one of the bigger bailout cheque recipients.
I was rather surprised that a supposedly impregnable car with its own air supply ffs could be so easily defeated by that exit though – I would have expected for it to have a smooth underside to be able to get over obstacles like that given its intended use. I have a feeling the the BMW that left just before it raised some kind of gate latch as it definitely sounded like it was caught up on some metal object when it stopped.
Maybe they had tested the route a few times but were not taking into account how much weight the presidential couple had put on in the pub whilst necking Guinness and pork scratchings.
Now i see why the White House did not bail out GM.
