From the BBC this evening, one for the very strange indeed department :
Cheshire man dies in Pyranha Mouldings factory oven
A 54-year-old man has died after becoming trapped in a hot oven at a canoe factory in Cheshire.
Alan Catterall, from Murdishaw, was cleaning machinery at Pyranha Mouldings in Runcorn. He was discovered in the oven shortly before 0900 GMT on Thursday. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed.
The firm said it was “shocked and saddened at the tragic loss” of Mr Catterall.
It added that it was co-operating with the police and the HSE. Cheshire Police said a criminal investigation was not being carried out and the coroner had been informed.
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said the oven was hot when they arrived and Mr Catterall was found inside it.
Unfortunately for the firm in question, their best selling kayak design now has a somewhat inappropriate name:
PRODUCTS > KAYAKS > BURN
The weapon of choice for many of the World’s greatest paddlers, the Burn just got better!
Subtle performance enhancing modifications make the 2010 Burn exactly what you need for having pinpoint accuracy and boofing down rivers like a Pro. Whether you’re eddy hopping down remote gorges in distant locations or just want to Burn down your local run, there’s more than one reason why this design is established as THE benchmark creek kayak
….
“It’s the Burn we’ve known and loved made better!”
