FT Alphaville has a good summary of the latest BA strike debacle. The Airline seems intent on losing any good will they may still have in their battle to reduce staff costs :
Indeed, BA cabin crew apparently don’t think a volcano has been enough trouble to the beleaguered airline industry.
Instead, they have engineered another 20 days worth of strikes over the course of May and early June — causing chaos to untold Bank-holiday weddings all over the world . . . and Poland.
But this time it won’t just be tearful brides cursing airline staff. Strikes are set for:
- 18 to 22 May
- 24 to 28 May
- 30 May to 3 June
- 5 to 9 June
Meaning, BA cabin crew will also have to contend with angry English football fans heading to South Africa for the World Cup, which starts on June 11.
I would be surprised if anyone ever books a flight with them again after that round of strikes, especially as their prices are always at the top end of the range costwise for more or less any destination you choose.
